In June our campout was held at Country Roads in at Delton, WI, near Wisconsin Dells. We had the most beautiful weather that we have had in a very long time. Sunny and about 80 degrees!! Watnes made a Walmart run and reported there were no green grapes in the store but Korzuns returned from their Walmart shopping with a three pound bag of them. Watnes obviously didn’t look too hard for them! We had our usual dogs ‘n more on Thursday night.
Friday morning some of us went to Paul Bunyan’s Cook Shanty for a fabulous family style breakfast that included sugar donuts, eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausages, hash browns, pancakes, orange juice, and coffee. It was all delicious and filling! It should be noted that there was a bit of a problem following the two leaders to get there since they went in different directions! A little time was spent in the “nicely decorated” gift shop and then we headed back to the campground.
We visited and then spent the afternoon playing beanbag baseball. The girls and the guys had a great time and each team won a game. We then had our meeting, where it was decided to bring back our Saturday Wagonmaster Breakfasts at the wagonmasters’ option. Happy Hour, our fabulous potluck and campfire followed. They were a little skimpy with our purchased firewood. It consisted of just bark portions!
Saturday was a free day. Some toured Walmart and the town. Others went to Ho Chuck casino, garage sales, and candy shops. The afternoon was spent playing Giant Jenga and enjoying Happy Hour. The supper meal was at Sprechers in the Dells. It was very good and leaned toward German food. A campfire ended the evening. Sunday breakfast finger food was hosted by the wagonmasters and then most departed for home but Fred decided to stay on for a few more weeks. It was a beautiful weekend!
