Bradford's Brigade and Quinebagos Chapters by Pat Kane
Circle CG Farm Campground, Bellingham, MA 4/26 - 4/28
There were eleven coaches in attendance. It started out rainy but that of course that didn't prevent us from having a good time. After all, it was the first campout and we were glad to be "on the road again."
We welcomed several guests who are interested in the WIT Club and wanted to “try us out” for the weekend.
Mark & Barb Frazier, Kevin & Cheryl Russell, and Carolyn Fitzpatrick. It was wonderful to meet them and share in their travel stories, and they all indicated they are interested in joining our chapter!
Friday night we gathered together to “catch up” with one another on winter news and travels. We enjoyed many yummy desserts that everybody brought. Saturday morning, in keeping with our reputation of eating our way through the weekend, we started with a continental breakfast provided by our hosts, Brian & Linda Martel. Folks spent Saturday playing cribbage, talking, shopping, puzzle making, and working out some start of camping season RV issues! Saturday night many folks car pooled to the Willow Brook Restaurant nearby in Mendon, MA where they enjoyed a variety of delicious dinners. We were unable to have a fire due to the rain so we headed into the gathering place to, yup you guessed it, have more yummy desserts. Everyone enjoyed spending time with each other, sharing of past travels, and travel plans for this season (see “You’re going where” below). Sunday morning, we met again for more food thanks to Brian & Linda and others who contributed. The rain held off as we packed up and said our goodbyes. For most of us it will only be a short time before we see each other as we will meet again at the end of the week on the Cape. Safe travels!
Cape Cod Campresort, East Falmouth, MA 5/3 - 5/5
One again there were eleven coaches in attendance with many of those doing our back to back campout weekends. We welcomed guests Bruce & Kim Goff as the latest couple to “try us out” for the weekend, and they decided to become the newest members of our club!
Friday night started off with a terrific pot luck dinner. The food was scrumptious and plentiful. There were many different varieties of main dishes and desserts that were amazing and enjoyed by all. The rain stayed away so we were able to have our first campfire of the season. Saturday morning was rainy so we piled into the Slattery's coach for a breakfast of eggs, English muffins, Danish, fruit, and muffins. Thanks to Jim & Bev for providing such a delicious breakfast. The rain stopped and folks headed out to explore the area, bike ride, shop, and take walks. Some of us worked on our motorhomes. There were cribbage games and the game Left, Right, Center was played. The Jim's, Jim Pierce and Jim Slattery, manned the grills for dinner. Burgers, Hot dogs, Sausages, and lots of delicious sides and desserts! After dinner, we sat around the campfire. Sunday after a continental breakfast provided once again by the Slattery's most everybody packed up and headed out to avoid the rain that was heading our way. All in all, a good weekend. Good friends, good food and good time. Thanks to everyone for making the weekend fun. Special thanks to Jim & Bev Slattery for hosting the weekend!
