Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Russ & I relaxed most of the day chatting or face-timing with our children and grandson that couldn’t be with us and watching Hallmark Christmas Movies. Yep, I have a therapist on speed dial, just in-case Russ is in need. We even did a 2.8 mile walk around our neighborhood enjoying the crisp, sunny weather that living in Florida provides.
As most of you know, this will be my last newsletter and my last campout review featuring all the fun events that our wonderful Hosts & Co-Hosts planned for us at the FLAMINGO LAKE CAMPGROUND. Many thanks to Janet & Tom Koenig, Dottie & Bob Terry and Bonnie & Bob Milligan.
Our first game, one of many, was the Left-Right Swap gift exchange. This hysterical poem was read by our outgoing President, Russ Grimm. So much “fun” confusion was had with this enjoyable exchange. Including a spilled drink on the floor. “Clean-up in aisle 1”! Everyone was a winner!
Our Hosts/Co-Hosts provided us with a delicious lunch and a fun game of Card Bingo. There were lots of winners, but sadly, neither Russ nor I won.
The weather was a bit chilly during our campout (I finally got to wear some of my UGLY sweaters I’ve been holding on to) but we couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather.
Russ’s last official duty for our last club meeting for 2018, included the swearing in of our new club officers that were voted in at the November campout. Best wishes and congratulations to all.
John and Kim English were not able to attend our December Campout, but John will remain as the Du-Bol Winnies’ Treasurer for 2019. John will be sworn in at the March 2019 Business Meeting.
As a final THANK YOU to Russ & Arlene Grimm for Russ’s 3 years of serving as an officer (1 year as Vice-President and 2 years as President) and to Arlene for volunteering for 3 years as the Newsletter Editor, the club gave them a generous gift card for their service.
“It is with sincere gratitude that Russ & I thank each and every one of you for all your help, guidance, suggestions, prayers, fellowship, and most important, your friendship during our involvement with the Du-Bol Winnies. As we continue our journey with this very special group of people, know that we will always cherish the memories we have created with all of you. Thank you.”
The winner of this year’s Decorate Your RV Contest was: Marcia & Dave Proctor – Congratulations on a job well done.
Finally, our Christmas dinner and Christmas Gift Exchange was held on our last evening together. Much fun, many photos, hysterical laughs and the annual group photo were the highlight of this festive event.
Happy New Year 2019 From the Du-Bol Winnies, FL
