18 coaches traveled to Naples for our May outing at Neopolitan Cove RV Resort.
Our first activity was a Champagne Toast hosted by Dick and Sandie Williamson to celebrate their beautiful new Journey on Thursday afternoon. The celebration was held inside the clubhouse with lots of "Bubbly" and trays of yummy sandwiches & appetizers. Personal tours of the coach were given on demand. It features an amazing layout with changes made to suit their needs. We wished them many miles of happy, "COOL" travels
Friday was "Ladies Day Out". We loaded up 3 vehicles with 13 gals and traveled 7 miles up the road to shop at "The Best of Everything". After shopping till we dropped the next stop was Mel’s Diner just a short stroll across the parking lot. This has been a favorite outing for many of us for the past decade. We filled the diner’s little private room and proceeded to enjoy a delicious lunch. Alas, there was no space left in our tummies for the house special "Mile High Coconut Pie". Perhaps next year some of us will eat dessert first!
At this time we have no idea what the guys did while we are gone!
Everyone showed up at Happy Hour though, and Raffle Babes-In-Training, Passionate Paige and Angelic Anna sold a bunch of 50/50 raffle tickets. Three lucky winners went to supper with big smiles on their faces.
After supper a bunch stayed and played 7 rounds of Bingo.
Saturday morning we held our business meeting during which we voted in our newest members Katie & Alice Van Lennep from Boynton Beach. After they toured the Williamson’s coach Thursday afternoon they decided to go RV shopping and found an Ellipse that was just perfect for them. Champagne toast is in the wind for the June outing.
Naughty Babes, Stormy & Tempest, sailed in to entertain us during Saturday’s Happy Hour and peddle raffle tickets with the chance to win some great prizes. After the prizes were raffled off John Bierie organized and held a Derby Pool for another chance for lucky members to win some money. Congrats to "Justify" for winning the 144th Kentucky Derby and making a few more of us happy winners.
Our delicious grilled pork chop dinner wound up the festivities for the weekend.
Our next campout in the Florida Keys will be a small group. Plans for summer travels have started and many of our members have already returned to their Northern abodes or headed out into the Wild Blue Yonder. Some will meet up at GNR and some we will not meet up with again until fall. To all, safe, happy travels.
