WIT Bocce Ball Rules and Notes

The goal of this game is to score 11 points in rounds 1 and 2 or 15 points in rounds 3 plus. Points are scored by placing your ball closer to the pallino than the opposing team.

This is a two person or (team) event.

Each person on the team will use four balls.

The court measurements will be 12 feet wide by 50 feet long, with a centerline at the 25 foot mark.

The pallino is thrown first and must cross the centerline.

Teams will alternate tossing the pallino; the person tossing the pallino throws first and then teams alternate throws.

All balls within measured distance score, therefore both teams can score per round. The measured distance will be 24 inches.

While the objective is to get close to the pallino, it is permissible for a player to knock an opponent’s ball away from the pallino. Likewise, a player may knock or move the pallino towards his/her own team’s ball. The pallino is playable anywhere on the playing surface.

At the end of a round if both teams are tied at 11 or 15, the throwing team must win by 2 points.

Each round do not pick up the balls until all agree on the score.

Any ball on or outside the outside line is considered out. If the pallino is knocked out of play it will be seated at the spot it was prior to being knocked out of play by the opposing team using its best judgment.

The players must report to the bracket table after each game to give the score and report the winner to the bracket keeper.

NOTE: Please bring your lawn chairs with you, as seating is limited.
