August−Another month of good times, good food, and great friends. 49er Village in Plymouth was our destination and 16 rigs including Becky and Butch Moore, our West Coast WIT Reps, were in attendance.
We were blessed with clear skies, warm (read that HOT) weather, and activities to keep us busy. Our first night was dinner out at a Mexican restaurant—good food and the margaritas were tasty, too.
Friday we journeyed to Helwig Winery for tasting and a tour of their underground wine cellar. Our tour guide/wine stewart gave us the grand tour of the cellar along with tasting along the way. The winery was complete with tasting rooms, an amphitheater, and their cellar; which was underground below their main buildings. All in all, a fascinating place.
Our wagonmasters made sure that we wouldn't go hungry with a hearty potluck Friday, a pancake breakfast Saturday, and a barbecue tri-tip dinner Saturday night.
Because we ate hearty, Sunday's getaway breakfast didn't have a lot of leftovers. Good planning by our wagonmaster team. Still they made sure there were good things to fill our stomachs before we hit the road.
