August−We were a small group of three units at Western Village, Carlisle, PA on Aug. 14-16. The hosts, Myron and Ruth, along with Duane and B and Burton and Sally, attended the outing. We were parked together near the swimming pool and had 50-amp. power, water, and sewer hookups. Water was fine, but the pressure was a bit low. The sewer connections were designed for trailers with rear baths, so you will need two sewer hose sections and 50 feet of water hose.
The Western Village is a large facility and nicely laid out with some shaded seasonal sites and many shaded sites for pull-it units and smaller Class As using 30-amp. power. The majority of the 50-amp. sites have only partial shade. They also have multiple shelters, multiple cabins, large swimming pool, miniature golf, game room, and a separate store. The propane is bottles only. There are only two strong TV signals and the Verizon cell service was only one or two towers. They do have a free night for each six nights of camping.
As our group was very small, we did our own meals and activities, but did gather for two nice group discussions—one with peach pie. Witley was not in attendance, but Rocky, a black cat, came with Myron and Ruth. By our second gathering, he was willing to be petted.
