June−The Sun Catchers met at the Horn Rapids RV Resort in Richland, WA. In attendance were: Dave and Mary Adolphsen, Doug and Sherry Sprouse, Dave and Ann Salmon, and Andy Karlsnes.
Tuesday evening we enjoyed roasted chicken and salad and sides. It was to bed early after traveling most of the day.
Wednesday morning it was off early for the tour at Hanford of the B reactor. It started at the tour headquarters and then a 45-minute bus ride to the reactor with the tour guide giving us a lot of background information and history. At the reactor were several presentations in the main area and in the control room and then in the valve pit. We could wander some in areas that were roped off. Then it was back on the bus for the trip back to the starting point. It was really informative and many impressive questions asked and answered. The docents were impressed with the knowledge the group seemed to have and the tour ran long because of it. It was early afternoon by the time we returned.
We pooled our leftovers and snacks for dinner outside in the nice weather. The guys took off to Harbor Freight and the gals went looking for a yarn shop. Both groups had a sightseeing trip trying to find their way back. It was chicken noodle soup for dinner under Salmons' awning.
Friday morning we said our goodbyes and headed off to our various destinations.
