June−There were five couples who had arrived at Silver Cover RV Park, Silver Lake, WA on June 6-12. We headed to Parkers on Thursday evening for dinner after visiting and getting settled.
Friday we spent the day doing various things on our own and that evening we carpooled to the Gauvreaus, who had invited us to gather for our dinner. What a gorgeous home and outdoor space they have! I think we all would love to come back and enjoy this beautiful setting without the blustery weather!! Dee and Bob were so very gracious and welcoming!
Saturday dawned with some hope for a better day! Each of us went our separate ways—some to see Mt. St. Helens, others enjoyed the surrounding country and towns, had lunch somewhere, or relaxed in or out of our motorhomes. That afternoon, the Gerrits joined us for our "happy meeting" and dinner. We met under the Robels' awning hoping to stay dry, but Mother Nature had another plan! As had happened at the Gauvreaus home, much the same experience happened under the small awning! Definitely the shortest and wettest meeting!! We managed to still have a great dinner under the Stanfords' awning…thank goodness! By then, the rain had stopped! Some of us even stayed for an evening around Chuck's pellet fire!
Sunday dawned nice and clear. This day we had the clubhouse where we gathered for a wonderful crockpot breakfast and croissants with jams hosted by Jolene and Chuck! It was accompanied with our traditional fruit bowl. Sharon was our drawing winner. Still it was a great weekend, despite the weather, and we learned we don't melt!!
