December−Our Dec. 2-4 outing was our Christmas party at the Lodi Grape Festival grounds. There were 20 rigs in attendance and one guest. The 2016 chapter officers were the hosts for this outing. Many of us arrived early on Thursday. It was good to see everyone since our last official outing was in August. On Thursday night, we all went to dinner at the Stockton Elks Club. The dinner was delicious and afterward, a DJ started playing music so some of us got up and danced.
Friday we set up the room for 44 of our members to kick off the weekend with happy hour with Christmas music playing in the background and a dinner taken out from Habanero Hots, a local Lodi Mexican restaurant. We had a delicious dinner. If you are ever in Lodi, be sure to stop in to the restaurant. Earlier that day, some went there for lunch and others went to a local winery in Lodi. After dinner, we played cards and dice.
Saturday started with a delicious breakfast prepared by the officers. After breakfast, we had our chapter meeting and voted in our guest couple as new members. The afternoon was spent getting the hall ready for the Christmas party. Most of the women got together and decorated ornaments as our table place settings. After that, we played some fun games of Christmas bingo. Then everyone was scooted out of the hall so the decorating committee could turn it into a special holiday décor.
Happy hour commenced with everyone in the holiday spirit. With Ira on guitar and Mike on harmonica, we were treated to Christmas songs and country music to which we line danced. Sooo much fun! For our Christmas dinner, we had prime rib prepared by our master chef, John, which was delicious as always. After dinner, our new 2017 officers were installed. Gabe played Santa this year with Mary as his helper to hand out Mama Bear and Papa Bear gifts to all. What a special evening!
After a continental breakfast on Sunday, we all departed having had a wonderful weekend with our friends and Golden Bear Winnie family.
