2017 CALIFORNIA STATE CLUB OF WIT OCTOBER RALLY
The California State Club of WIT (CALWIT) would like to invite all WIT Club members and owners of Winnebago Industries RVs to our October rally to be held in the beautiful California Gold Country.
We will be gathering at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora from October 4th to the 8th. The theme of the rally is Oktoberfest. We have many fun-filled events planned including bean-bag baseball, a swap meet, and an ice-cream social. Meals will include one hors d'oeuvres potluck, one catered dinner, and two dinners and one breakfast provided by our state club chapters. We are also planning to have some seminars that should be of interest to all RV owners. A highlight of the rally is a planned trip to the acclaimed local East Sonora Theatre to see a matinee production of one of Tennessee William's most popular plays, The Glass Menagerie. Saturday night is your opportunity hear and dance to the music of Steve Woods, who will perform classic ballads, good ol' rock and roll, and country music. Many of you remember Steve as the entertainer at this year's Southwest Regional Rally in Pahrump, Nevada.
The rally begins Wednesday afternoon, October 4th, with a First-Timer's Welcome Orientation followed by fellowship, opening ceremony, and an hors d'oeuvres potluck. Then Thursday, the fun begins continuing until you leave Sunday.
The Mother Lode Fairgrounds has electric (30/50 amp) and water at all sites in addition to sewer at some. There is an on-site dump facility. Registration fee for four days of parking at the fairgrounds is $220.00 for two people, $170.00 for one person. Each extra person is $50.00.

Special note: As mentioned, the name has changed slightly, but the rally has also been lengthened a day as well, so plan to arrive on Tuesday, May 15th for a pre-rally social time and get a night’s rest before the rally kickoff first thing Wednesday morning. The rally theme is “The Fabulous 50’s” so bring your poodle skirts, letterman sweaters, or favorite leather jacket and t-shirt from that era and join us for loads of fun activities. We have an excellent band, which truly knows and plays the best of the 50’s and early 60’s music.

While we have held this rally at Cashmere for the past four years, folks have requested more time to explore the area. Cashmere is on the east slope of the Cascades, just north of Wenatchee and just south of the Bavarian town of Leavenworth (a setting right out of the Sound of Music) which features everything you loved about Germany (food, drinks and music). By lengthening our rally, we have allowed time in our rally schedule for you to visit and explore the local sights right up front.
As mentioned, there will be a “get acquainted social” on Tuesday evening. We will welcome “First-Timers” on Wednesday morning (with a continental breakfast) and a rally orientation. The remainder of Wednesday will be for settling in and checking out the area shops, restaurants, etc. There will be a Wednesday afternoon social with food and beverages for those who don’t go to German lunch and the evening activity will be “Team Challenge/Trivial Pursuit” – just for bragging rights.
Thursday will begin with a “best ball/shotgun start/golf tournament and lunch for the golfers (cost is covered in the registration fee). More details and golfer registration information will be available on the Wash-i-bago website (http://www.wash-i-bagos.com) by March 1st. Lunches will be on your own this year, with several restaurants to choose from in Cashmere and the surrounding area. Thursday afternoon will begin the scheduled seminars and once again a performance by the ever popular Cashmere High School Jazz band. There will be another afternoon social hour on Thursday, with food and beverages, followed by Bingo and prizes (covered in your registration fee).
Friday will be more vendors, seminars and the elimination rounds of the beanbag baseball tournament, with the finals schedule for Saturday. We are working to get more local vendors committed to the rally than ever before. Friday evening will be a catered dinner by Ravenous (a superb) Catering, followed by a “sock hop” with the fabulous “Fun Addicts” from Seattle. Even if you can no longer fly around the dance floor, you can enjoy the music of a brighter variety. This group was booked by overwhelming demand of the membership, after performing at the 2017 Northwest Regional Rally.
Saturday will begin with the annual Memorial Service, a military recognition time. The WIT store will be open and WIT Tours will be presented by our new Western WIT Representatives. Saturday morning is also available for more sightseeing in the local area. Beanbag baseball champions for 2018 will be decided in the afternoon and Ravenous Catering will again serve the evening meal, before the awards ceremonies and door prize giveaways.
Sunday will be departure day, but you may want to attend our non-denominational worship service, hosted by Nina & Flo (the effervescent sisters from BC) before hitting the road.
Registration forms will be posted on our website (http://www.wash-i-bagos.com) by February 1st and should be mailed to Gloria Braunschweig, 121 NE 14th St., Battle Ground, WA 98604, along with a check, made out to “WSWR” and Gloria can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
