PUCKERBRUSH WEEKEND - FOREST CITY
1900 MEMORY LANE
The hands of time will turn backward Saturday, July 15th in Forest City as the Winnebago Historical Society hosts a trip down “1900 Memory Lane.” This gala event will feature no less than five beautiful Victorian Homes of the rich and famous of early Forest City. Also included will be old time gospel quartet performances at the 1874 Trinity church standing proudly on the same corner for 143 years. A stop not to be missed will be the 1900 Mansion Museum with three floors of memories from meteorites to the history of John K Hanson and Winnebago industries!
The afternoon would not be complete without riding in the many horse drawn carriages or early Forest City horse-less carriages!
Also special that afternoon on location will be “Iowa History 101 on Wheels.” This 38 foot Winnebago is filled with early rare artifacts from the Iowa State Museum in Des Moines complements of the Iowa Historical Society!
Be sure to come to the Puckerbrush Parade, enjoy a meal on the courthouse lawn and then experience Forest City’s rich history. The “1900 Memory Lane” will be entertaining and educational for all generations. Your “wow” factor begins in North Forest City, Saturday, July 15th from 1-4 pm. Don’t miss it!!
